Furry Friday: Kodi and Opal

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

PREFERS A HOME WITHOUT
Other dogs, children, cats

In 2018 I came to MAS after being surrendered by my family for not having enough time for me. The sanctuary is a wonderful place and all…. but at 5 years old it was a big and pretty stressful transition for me. I have done my best to adjust to my new surroundings, but I miss the quiet home life.

My favorite things in the whole world are snuggling with my people and going for scenic adventures. I am not as young as I once was, but I do like getting out and I have grown to appreciate the little things life has to offer. All my friends at MAS get a good laugh spending time with me; whether it be my awkward and goofy smile or the love of my toys (rolling around playing with them makes me feel young again)!

You might be wondering why I am still at Mackenzie’s and have yet to find my forever family…. Being an older guy, with limited social skills (I should be the only pet in an adult only home), finding the right home for me has been a bit of slim pickin’s. But I will always hold on to the hope that somewhere out there I will be exactly what someone is looking for and will get to experience home life again.

If you are a lonesome homebody looking for a best friend, I think I might be just what you are looking for! To find out, submit your adoption application!

Opal is about 3 months old and not quite 8 pounds. So, although we have no idea what breed she is, we think she will stay relatively small. She loves to harass and race around with the 80 pound dogs in her foster home so no one tell her she’s little. She is doing great with her potty training and crate training and is learning to listen to the cats, too! Opal loves humans of all sizes but her sharp puppy teeth probably aren’t a great fit for young children. Opal doesn’t startle or get worked up at noises (bonus at fireworks time) and we think she may be deaf. She’s so smart and is learning hand signals and it does not slow her down at all! If you’re looking for spunky companion who likes play as hard as she snuggles, Opal just may be your girl! Opal is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $350 and you can apply to adopt her online.
