LowellArts Class: Needle Felted Fish

Using wool, specially barbed needles, and wire, create your own one-of-a-kind felt fish! Class instruction will include wool types used, needle safety precautions and proper use, how to create a form using wire for armature and core wool, and adding exterior details with dyed wool. Plenty of wool color options will be available to choose from. Examples will be provided, and no previous needle felting experience is necessary.

Ages: 13 to Adult
Materials Needed: All materials provided.
Class Fee: $36 ($29 for LowellArts Members). Fee includes materials.

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
