FROM November Volunteers of the Month

We received the following information and photos from Flat River Outreach Ministries about their November volunteers of the month.

For November we want to recognize our Commodities Volunteers as the Volunteers of the Month. Ahead of each Commodities distribution, ten volunteers help unload the food from the truck and carry the full (often heavy!) boxes into the kitchen. Then another team of ten volunteers help unpack the boxes of individual items and re-pack the  boxes (filled with a variety of foods) that folks pick up on Commodities Distribution days.  The volunteers move fast and complete this all in about two hours each time!

On distribution days (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during pantry hours), 2-3 volunteers help make sure everything runs smoothly and assists people as needed.

So far this year this groups has volunteered 254 hours!  Pictured below are just a few of the folks that have helped during the last distribution.  We so appreciate the time all our Commodities volunteers carve out of their schedule to help provide this service to our neighbors in need. We couldn’t do it without you!
