Furry Friday: Dottie, Spunky Dunkers and Bagel

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Sassy, single and ready to mingle!

I’m looking for my human soulmate. My ideal bestie will be encouraging (because I can be a slight bit shy sometimes), playful (because I LOVE to zoom around and play with my person instead of toys), and always ready for a sweet snuggle with a roughly 45lb lap dog.

It is a bit ironic and sort of funny that my name is Dottie, when I am in fact striped, don’t you think? I would say that type of irony fits my personality though. I am, after all, a goofy gal! Thankfully, my love of snacks motivates me when it is serious ‘time to practice training’ time. Which I guess, when you think about it, is kind of a game…and I do love games with my bestie! Speaking of my bestie, a few more ideal qualities for me would be patience (with some yummy treats for my training games), adventurous (because I love going for walks and admiring nature’s vast array of smells), and loyal (because I am looking for a BFF, emphasis on the second F for forever!). Having kids or another dog to play with would be a bonus too, honestly.

If I sound like the furry soulmate match you have been looking for, submit your adoption application at the MAS website!

Meet Spunky Dunkers, AKA Dunkers! Named after a donut shop, this lil guy couldn’t be sweeter. Dunkers is 3 years old and is one of the most affectionate dogs we have ever met. He loves to snuggle, get pets, be held, take naps in your lap, and be with you as much as possible. He also is great with other dogs and would love another small dog to play with! Dunkers is a true Velcro dog, so will need someone home more often than not. He was picked up as a stray (this guy had no business being on the streets – he is such a love bug!) with fleas and matted fur, so he was shaved. His hair is growing back very well! He does not appear to shed. And don’t even get us started on his tiny little underbite! Dunkers is crate trained and about 90% of the way there with potty training. If you’re ready for 8lbs of love and affection, apply for him today! Dunkers is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, is neutered, microchipped, and his adoption fee is $275.

Bagel was owned by someone who was living for decades in a completely uninhabitable house. The owner passed away, leaving behind 20 friendly cats.

Bagel is a very sweet and gentle girl. This sweet feline queen is as unique as her name suggests – with sleek black fur and a charming white bib that adds just the right touch of elegance. Bagel isn’t just a beauty; she’s the epitome of feline friendliness, always ready to shower you with gentle cuddles and endless affection. Bagel loves to be pet and is one of the first at the door when our volunteers come in the room. She gets along great with her roommates, too!

Bagel has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is approximately 5 years old. Her adoption fee is $95.

Apply to adopt Bagel here.

If you are interested in any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.
