Is there anything better than coming home to a big ol’ 70lb goofy dog? I don’t think so, my name is Gilbert and I am what they call a derp dog. As you can see from my pictures, not only am I a floppy boy, I am also photogenically handsome. What’s not to love?!
In all seriousness, I have been looking for the perfect forever family for a long time, but as they say, all good things come to those who wait. While I’ve been waiting for my forever home, MAS has been helping me practice training and manners. I love the treats, so it has been a blast! Who doesn’t love treats though, lets be honest here. Matter-of-fact, I fully support the midnight snack trips we can absolutely take together. We can walk it off in the morning anyways….and then snuggle on the couch to watch TV and take a cozy nap; its a win/win….win!
I know what you’re thinking: “Gilbert is perfect, he can’t get any better” and that is where you would be wrong my friend! You are looking at a genuine party animal right here! A serious happy-go-lucky guy, sure to make every day an adventure together. I love playing outside, swimming in the MAS pond, playing with my human and canine friends, and going for car rides!
Though I try, nobody is perfect. I guess perfect is a fantasy, but I am constantly learning and doing my best to be a better dog than I was yesterday; and to me (and I hope you too) that is perfect. I would do best in a home with older children and adults due to my enthusiasm sometimes being a bit too much for little ones. Though I have come leaps and bounds (as far as training and progression goes), and I really am trying to be the best dog I can be….but I draw the line with cats. I should also mention that I can be a rough player with other dogs. I am very excited to meet other dogs, but my play style can be a little overwhelming for some. I have made a few good friends that I play great with though, so the required dog introduction before I go home will be a huge factor in the final adoption decision with a potential doggy sibling.
If you are looking for a happy and handsomely dopey face to greet you at your door, submit your application on the MAS website!

Nessa is a 65 pound, 5 year old LabSky Mix with the warmest smile and the most hilarious head tilts. We love this sweet girl so much. Sweet Nessa has had a very heartbreaking past that has made it hard for her to come out of her shell until she feels comfortable. You may have seen this sweet girl’s sad story online. Our good friends at Kent County Animal Shelter did a fantastic job making her feel safe and loved and getting her ready for rescue, and eventually her forever home. When she’s comfortable, she is so sweet, goofy, funny and awesome.
Nessa is going to need a very experienced and patient home to show her that she is loved and safe. She is going to bring so much love to a very special home; we are excited to meet the wonderful human that she chooses as her person. Nessa is house trained, and she is working on her crate training; she does well with cats and respectful dogs. She will do best in a home without smaller children. Nessa will need a home with a fenced in yard. She is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Nessa apply online.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Other cats, children
Wyatt showed up at a family’s home and they began feeding him. He was a bit leery, keeping his distance when they fed him. They were able to trap him to get him altered and he made his way to us.
Meet Wyatt, the shy but sweet soul looking for his forever home! This handsome male cat came to us scared and unsure, finding solace in his cozy cubby. With lots of love and patience, he is learning to trust.
Wyatt is a sweet and gentle soul with a heart of gold. At first glance, he may seem shy, but give him a chance, and you’ll discover a loving and affectionate companion. He’s the type of cat who prefers quiet moments and gentle touches. Wyatt finds comfort in cozy corners and snug cubbies, where he feels safe and secure.
While Wyatt may take a little time to warm up to new surroundings, his affectionate nature shines through when he feels comfortable. He appreciates patience and understanding as he adjusts to his new home. With time and tender care, Wyatt will blossom into the loving companion you’ve always dreamed of. He is the kind of cat who will quietly stay by your side, offering silent support and affection.
Wyatt would thrive in a calm and serene environment where he can explore at his own pace. A household with other cats would be a bonus, as Wyatt enjoys the company of his feline friends. Patient and compassionate owners who understand his need for space and time will be rewarded with endless love and gratitude from Wyatt
Wyatt has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped His adoption fee is $95. Wyatt has an approximate birthdate of November, 2022..
