GRIDCARD Week 35 Recap

Game 69: Picked Up, Picked Off

In the NFL opener between the Bills and Rams, Josh Allen was sharp, and Matthew Stafford was not. Allen completed 25-31 for just under 300 yards and 3 TDs. Stafford was sacked seven times and threw three interceptions. On the ground, Allen rushed for a team-high 56 yards. Stafford fumbled once and lost 49 yards. Josh Allen picked up right where he left off last year when he played flawlessly for Buffalo in the conference finals but lost to Patrick Mahomes’ heroics. On the other hand, the confetti dreams of Superbowl LVI faded quickly for Mathew Stafford and the Rams as Buffalo beat LA 31-10.

On the GridCard, Dano (41) put up a TallBoy to take down King of the Mountain. This was Dano’s third KOTM this year. The GC surrendered some big totals as seven other players posted Qualifying Scores: Jeep Lover 2 (38), Kevin K (36), Rico (36), Mr. Jake 50 (34), Jkloo (32), JeepCreeper (31), and PGT winner MW (32) who went back-to-back-to-back on the ProGrid Tour and extended his WWP lead. MW (72) also won King Kong for the third time this year.

Game 70: Gators Skin Utes

Trailing 29-26 but with 1st-and-goal at the 6-yard line, Utah (-3) was poised to score a game-winning touchdown–and cover–against Florida (+3) with :22 left.  But Gator linebacker Amari Burney had a different idea. His diving interception of Cameron Rising in the end zone saved the game for Florida. The Gator’s Anthony Richardson scored the actual game on a 1-yard dive at 1:25 of the 4th quarter.

On the GridCard, mac (41) put up a bigger TallBoy than MW (40) to claim King of the Mountain. It was mac’s fourth KOTM of the year–and MW’s second straight win on the ProGrid Tour. The GridCard was beatable as ten other players  posted Qualifying Scores: KaitMac (39), KLC (33), KMac (33), Jkloo (32), Nutmeg (31), Jodyann (30), dangerzone (30), tinksdust (29), amcmayonnaise (29), and KDet047 (29).
