Dear Editor –

As absentee ballots start hitting mailboxes and candidates are making their final push to win your vote, this candidate is asking for your help.

In early August, I made the tough decision to suspend my campaign for the Lowell Area Schools Board of Education after realizing that my family needed my attention more than ever. While I was disappointed at the time, I know our district will be in good hands. The other candidates on the ballot have made a commitment to our students, staff, administrators, and community to ensure that Lowell Area Schools remains a top-notch option for our families.

While my name will still be on your ballot, I am asking you to support Brian Krajewski, Laurie Kuna, Jessica Curtis, and Annie Whitlock McMahon for this year’s LAS Board of Education Election.

Brian and Laurie have served on the Board of Education for over 10 years. Their experience, wisdom, and commitment to our district has a proven track record as they have helped lead through a superintendent change, two bond elections, and created a firm foundation for success. Jessica has been appointed to the BOE twice and proven that she cares for our students and staff by continuing to persist through some of the most tumultuous years for the BOE in recent memory. While Annie’s name may be new to you, she is a long supporter of public education, dedicating her career through research and earning her PhD and helping teach our next generation of educators both locally and across the country.

With these four individuals, Lowell Area Schools will continue to be the amazing place to build our leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you to those that have supported me both this year and with my last campaign. I look forward to continuing to help our schools in any capacity that I can and hope to run for the BOE again in the near future.

With deep gratitude,

Parker Liu
City of Lowell
