Lowell Meijer to Undergo Renovation, Promises a Transformed Shopping Experience

Excitement is buzzing as the Lowell Meijer store gears up for a transformation, promising an even better shopping experience for its loyal customers. We caught up with Store Director Peg Willard to get the scoop on what’s in store for shoppers.

“What prompted the decision to renovate the store at this time?” we asked Willard.

“Remodel locations are selected using a variety of criteria, but the amount of time since the last remodel, as well as brand alignment, were key factors in the timing of the Lowell store,” she explained. “The Lowell store was last remodeled in 2011.”

As for the scope of the renovations, customers can expect a new look and additional services. There will updated finishes and graphics throughout the store and gas station, including the exterior, as well as remodeled restrooms, an added register in the pharmacy, an expanded pets section with a greater selection, updated baby and apparel sections with the addition of Carhartt & Carter’s shops and a fresh sushi counter. At the gas station, there will be additional restrooms and even a pizzeria.

But how will these renovations enhance the shopping experience for customers? “Our goal is to bring value and convenience to our customers, and this remodel will ensure that we can continue to provide the most convenient experience here in our store,” Willard said.

And there’s more. “We are adding a second consult room to the pharmacy, which will allow our team to serve more customers at a time for health screenings and immunizations,” Willard added, highlighting the increased demand for these services.

But what about disruptions during the renovation process? Willard assured us that they’re minimizing inconveniences as much as possible. “To make the experience more fun for our youngest shoppers, we’re bringing back our Hard Hat program, where kids visiting the store with parents will be invited to grab a yellow hard hat at the front of the store and learn about the work taking place. We appreciate our customers and their patience, and we hope they love the final result.”

Renovations are set to begin at the end of April and should be completed by this fall. And what’s more, there are always potential job opportunities for friendly team members looking to join the Meijer workforce.

As the conversation wrapped up, Willard shared that customers should be on the lookout for these savings: “mPerks customers who shop the Lowell store will receive coupons in the mail, as well as an extra digital mPerks reward once the remodel is complete.”

In closing, Willard emphasized Meijer’s commitment to the community: “Meijer invests in the communities we serve, and this is just one way we are investing in the Lowell community, along with donations to local non-profits and food pantries through our Meijer Team Gives and Simply Give programs.”

With promises of an enhanced shopping experience and community investment, the Lowell Meijer renovation is set to provide a new look and feel that is sure to be appreciated by regular and new customers alike.
