Vendor/Business Name: GlessBoards
Contact Person: Nick & Amy Gless
Location:  Stop #38 11656 Peck Lake Road
Items available: Unique and modern wooden gift items. Cutting boards, bowls, frames, boxes and more.
Business Tidbit: Many years ago as hobby woodworkers we started making furniture for our home.  As scraps of beautiful wood from the furniture started to pile up I began to make fancy cutting boards for friends and family.  People were always encouraging me to sell them online and about 8 years ago I created an online store for my cutting boards named “GlessBoards”.  The store took off and I started adding pictures of our furniture. When the furniture began selling our hobby changed course. My husband and I enrolled in a woodworking school to further our education and increase our skills. We grew busier and busier selling furniture on-line. As a result, a little over 4 years ago our custom furniture business became a full time endeavor.  With the exception of Christmas Through Lowell, we don’t make many cutting boards these days, but the name stuck.

This will be our 4th year.  We absolutely love the event – it’s great fun to visit with people in our shop.  We share our space with 5 other makers of wonderful items.  Becky Dickerman of Blue Fox Engraving will have all of her lovely engraved ornaments, tags, and other engraved gifts. Erin Davis of Gibby and Co will be displaying her hand tied bows and adorable hair accessories. Deb Pate of Debra L Pate Art will have her beautiful framed original watercolor paintings, greeting cards showing her art and other handmade gift items. Pam Titus of Maizie Moo will be on hand with the recently released book in her wonderful children’s series, more Maizie dolls and fun discussions. Tom Jorgensen will bring his beautiful turned pens and hopefully have some of his amazing carvings as well.

We’re really excited about Christmas Through Lowell this year — and super busy!  Our furniture business has outgrown our current space.  We’re presently adding a new bigger shop right next door and are working hard to get ready to use the new space for Christmas Through Lowell.  This will give all of our makers more room to spread out and also allow us to keep our current shop intact so visitors who want to tour the furniture shop can see it in its production state.  Plus we’re pretty stoked about a bigger shop and what the future holds for us.
