The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Millie is a super sweet lab/husky mix. She’s a very calm and gentle gal who loves spending time with her people. Millie would love a laid back and quiet home where she can soak up the sun. She seems to prefer older and respectful kids, and may enjoy the company of other dogs that have a similar laid back demeanor.

Violet is a happy go lucky lady who seems to love everyone she meets! She has a very genuine love of life, and she is eager to share it with all who cross her path. She enjoys going for walks, pouncing on tennis balls, and trying to be a lapdog. Violet’s manners could use a touch up, and she is hard at work with our staff and volunteers to make some improvements and learn how to harness her energy. That aside, Violet is a very dynamic and special gal who would make a great addition to an active and loving family.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Darby is a 33 pound, low-riding, 8-year-old lab/dachshund mix who is the snuggliest love bug you’ll ever meet.  She has so much love to give, and if she picks you as her person you will have yourself a forever shadow.  Darby is also one of the goofiest dogs we’ve ever met – she loves rolling in the grass, and she’s always making her humans laugh with her hilarious antics. She is house trained and crate trained, and she does very well with humans of all ages. A home without cats would be best, and she seems to prefer her dog friends to be smaller, more laid back dogs. Darby is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $175. Sugar Cookie is a 60 pound, 2 year old lab/hound Mix who came from Arkansas. She has great big floppy ears and the most beautiful soulful brown eyes. This sweet pup needs a home that will build her confidence as she settles in to life outside of a shelter. She is a little tentative, but her foster humans are doing a fantastic job introducing her to new things. She would do best in a more laid back home, without smaller children. Sugar is house trained and working hard on her crate training. She walks very well on a leash, and she loves other dogs. She knows many basic commands and she is exceptionally sweet. Sugar is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Sugar Cookie apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
