Game 88: Run-Up to Showdown
In Wednesday night MAC action, CMU led Northern Illinois 21-0 before the Huskies rallied to make it a game at 28-22. The Chips’ Kyle Moretti recovered a fumble for a touchdown to seal it for Central, 35-22. WMU did not fare as well against Bowling Green. The Falcons defense had a pick and a fumble recovery and bottled up the Broncos, beating Western 13-9. WMU will play CMU for the 93rd time next Wednesday. Western leads the all-time series 51-39-2. Since 1975 when both teams began competing in Division I, Central leads the series 28-18-1.
On the GridCard, the Chip win proved pivotal for Bubba (44) who beat out a quartet of TBs for his first King of the Mountain. EricCinTexas (41), Teunesto (40), Butch (40), and AK (40)–who swept the ProGrid Tour–all put up TallBoys. In fact, the GridCard surrendered plenty of points, including nine other Qualifying Scores: KLC (38), Found Fish (38), tinksdust (36), amcmayonnaise (35), Annabelle (33), Barry (31), KaitMac (31), MW (3 1), and KMac (31). AK (77) earned the King Kong.
Team GridCard featured four sweeps. The PGT–behind the Double TallBoy from Teunesto (40) and AK (40)– beat TMac 80-62. Fictionasy got points from Bubba (44) and JD (30) to edge VBar 74-71. Team Collins beat LFL 79-74, EricCinTexas (41) and KLC (38) leading the way. Team Detwiler hammered a short-handed OG squad 62-36. Kara (27) and amcmayonnaise (35) earned Top2.

Game 87: Covering Up
The Crimson Tide was a two-touchdown favorite over LSU, but the Tigers battled Saturday, and after five lead changes, the teams finished all even at 24. Alabama scored first in OT, a 7-play 25-yard drive, Roydell Williams running it in from a yard out. Will Reichard added the PAT. LSU, on the other hand, needed only one play, a 25-yard TD run by Jayden Daniels, and instead of playing it safe, the Tigers rolled the dice on a 2-point conversion–Daniels passing to Mason Taylor to roll the Tide 33-32.
On the GridCard, JD (39) finished King of the Mountain, JD’s second KOTM in just six weeks of action. AK (37) fell short but picked up a much-needed ProGrid Tour win. Eight other players posted Qualifying Scores: maryalene (33), Jeep Lover 2 (33), KLC (33), Nutmeg (31), MMc (31), amcmayonaise (30), MrNickJC (29), and Guy Green (29).
In Team GridCard action, Fictionasy but up a game-high score and won a key matchup with VBar 68-50, JD (39) and Guy Green (29) scoring for the portmanteaurs. The PGT shared honors, beating TMac 68-45 behind AK (37) and MMc (31). Team Detwiler defeated the OG 55-47, amcmayonnaise (30) and GB55 (25) leading the way. And Jeep Lover 2 (33) and KLC (33) led Team Collins to a win over LFL 66-58.
