Scenes from Lowell: Captured Edition

Prairie Bison by Randall Nyhof is one of the works on display at LowellArts. It is also for sale if you would like to own a copy.

There is a new exhibit at the LowellArts Gallery on Main Street, and we stopped by to take a peek. The exhibit, Captured: A Photography Exhibition, brings together more than 150 photographs from some of the area’s top talent.

However, these photos aren’t the type you’d slap into an album. Instead, they are works of arts that have been digitally altered, hand colored and superimposed on one another. Some look more like paintings than photographs, but rest assured, there is a film or digital image as the foundation of everything in the exhibit.

Here’s a look at some what’s on display. Of course, you’ll want to stop by and see everything for yourself to get the full effect. You can do that by stopping by the gallery on Tuesdays-Fridays from 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-5pm. The exhibit will run from now until September 1, 2018. Admission to the gallery is free. For more information about the exhibit, visit the LowellArts website.
