Trees to Trails: Lowell Light & Power Offers 2023 Christmas Tree Recycling Program

We received the following press release from Lowell Light & Power.

Lowell Light and Power is again donating their time and resources to provide the Lowell area with FREE Christmas Tree Recycling this holiday season.

December 27th through January 10th, area residents may drop off their bare, undecorated trees to the designated area at Rec Park (old Kent County Youth Fairgrounds) at 225 S. Hudson Street. Look for the signs near the Bowes Road entrance.

Using their wood chipper, LL&P staff will recycle the collected trees on January 11th and donate the wood chips to be used on the Wittenbach Wege Center trails.

There’s no limit to the number of Christmas trees you can recycle, but all trees must be free from tinsel, lights or any other decorations.

“After a successful first program year, we are thrilled to offer Christmas tree recycling for another year,” said Lowell Light & Power General Manager Charlie West. “This program not only provides a great service to our community, but also helps out a local organization.”
