The following animals are available for adoption. If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly. Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes. Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.
For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday! The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary
Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.
Kevin, Sally and their siblings were born on 3/18/18. They have a wonderful and tiny momma named Minni. She is a Bassett hound mix. There are 9 puppies all together, and we are ready to start accepting applications now. Please be patient though, as the puppies will not be ready for adoption until after they are 8 weeks old and medically cleared.
Carol’s Ferals
Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.
Monkey (female black with white on chest) and Anton (Male white/gray long-hair)
Monkey here (so named because my tail curls up like a monkey’s tail). Anton and I have been together for a LONG time and are very bonded. I am more outgoing and will beg for attention. Poor shy Anton may put his ears back and hiss when you try to pet him, but he won’t bite and will even start to purr. Deep down he really loves it, especially when you brush him. My belly looks a little bare, because I’ve been excessively licking my fur. I’m stressed from being in a room with so many cats. Anton and I could really use a patient loving home where we’ll be the only two cats.
Metro (male/black)
I am a very sensitive loving boy. If given a chance, I can prove it! I am afraid of the cats in the room with me, so you may find me hiding in a corner. Please don’t let my FIV+ status bother you. Look it up! I can live a long healthy life with just a little bit of extra care.
Beauty (female/calico)
I am such a gorgeous calico, they named me Beauty! I am slowly coming out of my shell and asking for attention. I will need a patient person who will work with me, but my companionship will be well worth it in the end. Loyalty is a two-way street.
Vicky’s Pet Connection
Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens. They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.
