Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 20. Lowell’s First Look (LFL) will be hosting a school board candidate forum beginning at 6:30pm at the Lowell Performing Arts Center (LPAC) at Lowell High School. The event will give the community the opportunity to see candidates in-person and hear their answers to questions suggested by residents.
Submit Your Questions
Members of the community are invited to let LFL know what questions they’d like asked during the event. All submissions will be reviewed with the final selection determined by LFL editors. Every effort will be made to ensure that popular topics and questions will be covered during the event.
If you are interested in submitting a question, fill out this form. Only questions suggested through the form will be considered. Information provided in comments on social media, email, etc. will not be reviewed. Questions must be submitted by end of the day on Friday, October 14 to be considered.
Providing an In-Person Opportunity
During the event, Maryalene LaPonsie of LFL will serve as moderator. All candidates will have the opportunity to spend up to two minutes answering the same question. Candidates will not know what questions will be asked ahead of time, and no questions will be taken from the audience. Candidates will also be provided time to make opening and closing statements.
The event will also be streamed live on the LPAC Facebook page and will be available for viewing after the event.
Ongoing Candidate Coverage
LFL has been providing weekly coverage of candidate profiles and a Q&A segment so the community can get to know each candidate. The intent of this live event is to provide another opportunity for voters to see how candidates feel about issues and present themselves in front of an audience.
We look to provide a fair and equal opportunity for all candidates to express their thoughts in a respectful manner. It is our goal to give voters information so that an informed decision can be made during the November election.

If you are unable to attend the event in person, it will be live-streamed here and available for viewing after the event is over.
