We received the following information about Flat River Outreach Ministries’ volunteers of the month.
For March we want to recognize those that volunteer on our Facilities/Maintenance Team. This group consists of weekly volunteers, Mike Folk, Bob Houseman, Herm Meyer, Herb Vanderbilt, and Gary Velthouse (Herm, Gary and Mike pictured) who volunteer about 21 hours each week and help in all areas of the building. This group has painted, removed carpeting, installed new energy efficient light fixtures and helped with many additional building improvements.
We also have volunteers (and groups) who have helped out with special projects including John Sterly, Mark Bogdanik, Ken Ballema, Roger LaWarre, Dave Kleinpaste, Dave Preiss, Farmers Insurance (United Way Day of Caring), Love Week (Impact Church), and Twin Lakes Nursery..
In 2018, Facilities/Maintenance team volunteers replaced vinyl flooring in the bathrooms, installed new counter tops, installed new toilets, installed new Pek lines, removed the old carpeting, changed furnace filters, installed a new door frame, removed a wall, moved a freezer and refrigerator, installed a sidewalk at the back of the building and switched lighting fixtures over to more energy efficient ones. Their volunteer hours helped FROM save over $56,000!
Thank you to this dedicated group for all you do, often behind the scenes, to help FROM carry out our mission of walking alongside our neighbors in need.
