Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Meet Komino & Tic Tac – they were adopted 8 years ago from us and are now 11 & 14 years old. They were just brought back to the Sanctuary. They are not in the best of shape. Komino is shut down, cries nonstop, has been in great pain for who knows how long due to his remaining eye, which we removed recently along with infected teeth. (Pain is being managed) Tic Tac just wants closeness and will look into your eyes and whine, she cries in her sleep, she had many infected teeth pulled so she’s pretty swollen now, but her pain is also being managed…just heartbreaking! The whole situation just puts a knot in your stomach. You would think we would be so angry, and we are, but we are also extremely grateful. Grateful they are back at MAS, grateful we can give them all the medical attention they need, grateful we have so many supporters that help us help dogs. Tic Tac and Komino are now safe and on a great road to recovery……we will keep you posted on their continued progress and they will continue to be fostered for as long as it takes to find the right “Forever” home.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Isn’t this girl a beauty? This is Chiquita and she’s just eight months old. In her photos, she does her best to look confident but, like many of us, she’s actually quite shy.  The world is just sort of big to her and she needs time to feel safe and comfortable before she comes out of her shell. She’s looking for a quiet home that will give her the love and safety that she needs to blossom! She has so much to offer the person who will give her the gift of patience.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Tazanna. I came to Carols Ferals from another rescue. I am just the sweetest girl ever. I love pets, purr when you hold me and LOVE attention!

Hi, I’m Rhaegal. I am a shy boy but do I ever like my belly rubbed! I won’t be the first one to approach you, but don’t mind if you come to me and give me some pets!

Hi, I’m Coraline! I was brought to Carol’s Ferals in May 2018 when I was 6 months old and already had a litter of kittens I’m a beautiful girl, aren’t I?! I am a shy sweet girl who would do best in a quiet home.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Bindi is so hilarious and goofy it’s impossible not to laugh at her shenanigans! She’s so much fun to be around and is sure to brighten your day! She’s also super smart and already knows many basic commands plus some fun party tricks that are sure to impress. While Bindi would probably prefer to sleep snuggled up against you in bed, she is learning about this cool thing called the crate.  She’s also doing great with house training and is quickly learning to ask to be let outside! Bindi and her great, big, wiggly ears are looking for a home that appreciates laughter and unprecedented amounts of goofiness and in return will provide her with continued socialization and a safe, patient, and loving home. This silly sweetheart enjoys play dates, but she would prefer to be the only furry friend in her home. Bindi is a 7 month old shepherd/boxer mix weighing in at 55 pounds with sweet, soulful eyes sure to melt even the coldest of hearts. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt this munchkin apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Gertie is a 5 year old English Bulldog with the sweetest, droopy face and the most pleasant, laid back personality. Gertrude has had a very rough start to her life, and as a result she has some medical issues that will require her to find a special and patient forever home. Gertie is unable to do stairs due to an old knee injury. And she has had a few teeth removed due to a facial injury. She would prefer a laid back home that matches her pace. She would prefer to be the only dog in the house. She is house trained and crate trained and good with cats, and she simply adores every human she meets. She has unconditional trust and endless love for every person in her life. She’s incredibly loyal and affectionate, and she loves to model sweaters and hoodies !! Gertie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots.  To adopt Gertrude apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
