Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Are you looking for a tall, dark, and handsome companion? How about a smart, devoted, and active playmate? Well, that’s me! I’m Lincoln.

I have the biggest smile and I love to show it off! I love to play and run; I think you would be impressed with how fast I am. I do prefer all your cuddles and attention to myself, so I need a home without other dogs or cats. Older kids are better equipped to handle my excitement and zest for life. I love long walks, preferably on a more remote trail. So, strap on your hiking boots and let’s go on an adventure together!

If I sound like the dog for you, please fill out an application today!

You look like you need some doggy smooches to brighten your day, and I am just the dog to give you some! My name is Fez and I would love to be your best friend! I am happiest with my people, I am trying my best to learn how to enjoy alone time, but I would prefer to go to a home with patient adopters that understand and can help boost my confidence.

Some of my favorite things are giving kisses, spray cheese (you know that squeeze cheese in a can?), cuddling on the couch, and enjoying some nice booty scratches. Sometimes I forget that I weigh about 60lbs and will try to get into your lap. It would be super cool to go home with someone that is as cuddly as I am!

An adult only home would be best for me. I have had nice cat introductions at MAS and would be comfortable to share my new home with a kitty sibling. I would like to be the only dog in my new home though. If you are interested in meeting me, submit an adoption application to the MAS website!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Lola is 1 1/2 year old pittie mix who weighs in at just under 50 pounds.  She is looking for a companion that loves to snuggle and play. Lola is completely potty trained and crate trained but has done great outside of her crate as well.  Additionally, she does well with dog respectful children.  She is still working on refining her manners and leash walking but has completely mastered the art of using her gorgeous green eyes to get you to give her just one more belly rub or booty scratch.  She would do best in a home as an only pet. Lola is a love and has not quite mastered how to handle being excited. She will need continued obedience training to help her understand how to handle her excitement with other pets and social situations. Lola is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250 and you can apply to adopt her at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt/

Meet Petey! This little man traveled from Arkansas to Tennessee and up to Michigan in search of a family to call his very own. A Chihuahua, Jack Russell Terrier mix, he’s estimated to be 5 years old and a whopping 12 pounds of confirmed cuteness. Petey LOVES to be as comfy and cozy as possible. You can often find him burrowing in blankets or napping atop a pillow throne. If you’re looking for someone for your Netflix binges… look no further! His other hobbies include going for walks, begging for your food and being anywhere his humans are. Due to his recent transitions, Petey does suffer from some separation anxiety. He will need a family that’s willing to be patient as he adjusts to his new home and a new schedule. He does great in a crate if he can see his humans are present & sleeps great in one at night. Petey does well with other respectful dogs after a proper introduction. Unsure how he is with cats & kiddos. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $275.
