Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Hank is a very quiet and subtle guy (in the sweetest way) while he is warming up and getting to know new friends. Once he does warm up, he oozes sweetness and loves to give kisses and be affectionate! He is not the party-pooch type, he is much more low-key and prefers to keep his social circle very intimate with his human companions.

You can usually find Hank, hanging out right next to his favorite people and soaking up all the love he can get from his best friends. When he is feeling more frisky, he loves playing fetch and making new canine friends to play and run around with. Hank came from a home with several other dogs and has made many canine friends here at MAS. Hank is still a young dog, his potential is as great as his new family’s effort!

“There ain’t a man livin’ who hasn’t talked to his dog.” – Hank Williams

Lets be honest, the last couple years have been very rough on us all….who doesn’t need a non-judgmental ear to vent to these days? For a chance to meet Hank and learn even more about him, check out the MAS website and submit an application to the link below!

Hank 1

When that little blue hedgehog said “I’m Sonic. A little ball of super energy, in an extremely handsome package…” he was talking about me.

A family with a fast paced lifestyle would be perfect for me; I would be a great candidate for a hiking buddy, a running partner, or even a jogging sidekick. After a fun adventure together, we can head home for an evening of backyard romps! We can host parties together and you can brag about how great your handsome new dog is, and I will show our guests my cool toys and we can hangout and it will be the best time!

I am very family oriented, although I do enjoy giving Ricky Bobby a run for his money, I appreciate down time just as much as anyone else. If cuddling is the name of the game, count me in! Full disclosure: I will have to make my rounds and test out who in our family is the best snuggler, I just need so much love I have to collect it from everyone before deciding to get settle in.

So what are you waiting for? Gotta go fast and submit your adoption application at the MAS website below before I am scooped up!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue looks to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Our sweet Moose is such a special, lovable soul. Moose is a 30 pound, 6 month old Staffy Mix with the cutest, most squishable face. He is learning how to be a dog, and he is flourishing in his foster home. Some things we learned about Moose: he can be a touch shy at first; but opens up very nicely, especially if there is another dog around – he absolutely loves dogs. He will need a patient and supportive home to keep teaching him how to dog and take him to Puppy Classes. He will need a fenced in yard in his forever home, and he will do best in a home without smaller children. Moose is doing a fantastic job with his crate training and house training, and he is uncommonly kind. He’s so sweet, we just adore him. Moose is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots.  His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Moose apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Kodiak is a 32 pound, 3 year old Shiba Inu Mix who came to our Rescue all the way from Tennessee. He is incredibly smart and loves learning new things. He’s also studying to get his pilot’s license – you know, just in case. Kodiak loves playing with his doggie roomies, and he’s always up for an adventure with his humans. Also, he enjoys cheese. Kodiak is crate trained and doing a fantastic job with his house training. He does well with other dogs; he would do best in a home without smaller children. Kodiak is undergoing heart worm treatment; the Rescue is sponsoring this care with a local veterinary practice. He will need a calm and supportive home to finish this treatment. Kodiak is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Kodiak apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
