Dreams do come true.  A mother and daughter have been given the opportunity to open their own boutique in Lowell.  Lavender & Lace Boutique will open its doors this Saturday, May 5 and hold a Grand Opening celebration on May, 19.  The store is located at 204 W. Main in downtown Lowell.

Working Toward the Dream
Cheryl Elzinga and Emma Reams asked Lennon & Willow owner Tenneile Petersen during one of their first visits to the boutique how they made their dream come true.  Elzinga and Reams had the same dream of opening up a shop together for years. After getting to know Petersen, Emma started working for her part-time on weekends. Little did she know that would end up being training for taking over the location and being part of opening a store of her own.

When the hard decision to close Lennon & Willow’s location in Lowell, Cheryl and Emma were asked if they were interested in opening their own store.  Since then, friends and family have been nothing but supportive as the pair officially open the doors of Lavender & Lace tomorrow morning.

The pair thought the name of their new business “sounded quaint like the town of Lowell”.  Emma continued on to say, “Lavender is also a favorite herb of ours with its calming effects.  We want the community to feel comfortable, relaxed and welcomed when they visit our store.” about the choice of Lavender and Lace for their new store.

The shabby chic style, where clothing is typically made from cotton or linen showing vintage floral patterns in pastels and earth tones, is a favorite of the pair.  When asked about products which customers can find in the store, Cheryl said, “The style of clothing will stay the same especially the name brands that we carry. We’re also going to be adding lavender products, a little home decor and a baby accessories corner that will be coming soon!”

Welcoming Customers for the First Time
Reams has lived in Lowell for almost a year now and is eager to be an even bigger part of the community.  She will be the one customers will see most frequently in the store. Both Emma and Cheryl would like to thank Lennon & Willow.  “Through this whole process they have been so helpful and giving of their time. They’ve truly become family to us and we couldn’t be more honored to take over such an amazing legacy that they’ve started.” says Emma.  Lavender & Lace Boutique had a soft opening for friends and family last Friday before opening their doors to the public for the first time this past Saturday. “We’re so excited to get started and meet all that visit us!” says Reams.  Reams’ husband Alex as well as their two dogs, Maggie, a Golden Retriever and Millie, a German Shepherd, have been supportive of the family effort and time taken to open the new business.

They will host a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, May 19.  The first 25 customers who spend at least $50 will receive a special gift.   A gift basket filled with lavender products along with a gift certificate to the store will be raffled off.  For every $75 spent in the store during their grand opening you’ll receive a ticket for the drawing. No purchase is necessary to receive one entry.
