There was a lot of good art entered in the 2018 West Michigan Art Competition, but only five could be chosen to win cash prizes. Those winners — along with four honorable mentions — were announced at a reception last week.
If you haven’t heard who won yet, here’s a look at the art that took top honors. We’ll start with the honorable mentions and work our way down to the first prize winner.
We can not stress enough that our photos do not do the artwork justice. Do yourself a favor, and stop by LowellArts to see the pieces in person. There’s no admission fee or ticket needed, and the art will be on display until April 14, 2018. Simply walk in off the street anytime the gallery is open to view all the entries and see if you would pick the same winners as the juror.
