Scenes from Lowell: Halloween Edition

For many people, this week’s big event was Halloween. Here’s a look at how the day played out for Lowell kids.

Area schools had plenty of fall and Halloween activities planned for kids of every age.

While the morning was for schoolwork, there were afternoon parties with games, treats and, of course, a parade to show off everyone’s costume!

After school, it was time for the main event: trick-or-treating! The tradition of going door-to-door and loading up on sweets officially ran from 5:30-8pm in the city.

The streets of Lowell were filled with everything from ghouls and ghosts and video games characters…

…to cats and princesses and super heroes. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man even made an appearance in one neighborhood.

Grown-ups got in the mood too, with some putting on their own scary costume and decking out their house with a frightening display.

Others transformed their porches into miniature haunted houses, much to some kids’ delight and others’ terror.

It was a chilly evening and a good night for a bonfire for those who were passing out candy.

If you celebrated Halloween this year, we hope you had a spook-tacular time!
