The Lowell Riddler: Riddle #17 Solved!

The Lowell Riddler is hiding medallions in the City of Lowell and offering area residents the chance to win a prize of local gift cards. Look for a new clue or riddle each Saturday!

From Mark Weaver, who solved the 17th riddle: “Where wanderers now consort” seemed to suggest North Country Trail, but that’s as far as Clue #1 got me. Clue #2 cemented the Trail Headquarters with “trail-ers” and the “short drive” behind. I checked out three bollards and found nothing, then I found a FOURTH and there it was!”

Here’s what else The Lowell Riddler sent us when announcing the winner and the answers behind the riddle:

Congratulations!

Mark Weaver from Lowell!

His prize package contains Lowell Bucks sponsored by Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, and a gift card sponsored by Sweet Seasons!

Additionally, anonymous donations of gift cards for
Main Street BBQ and a gift certificate to Sneakers!

Here are the answers to the clue:

Clue #1

Directional mode of transport,
(Old Western Auto Store)
Where wanderers now consort.
(North Country Trail Office)
They come out at dark,
(Lights behind the building)
Then go to the park.
(Parking lot area)
They work but they come up too short.
(Light is shorter than the surrounding bushes)

Clue #2

Out the back of the trailers it beams,
(Light behind North Country Trail Office)
On the short drive behind the scenes.
(Adjacent to drive behind the building by parking lot)
Three of them mark
(Identical lights of differing sizes)
The way in the dark.
(Only come on after dark)
They’re not all too bright so it seems.
(The lighting isn’t very bright)
