Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Emma is beautiful mixed breed gal that was found during one of her adventures. During her escapades, Emma picked up heartworm, and is nearly done with her heartworm treatment restrictions. She’s an active go getter, so these last several months of laying low has been a challenge – but she’s just about clear, and has been dreaming of stretching her legs on some nice hikes and walks. As an energetic young lady, Emma would thrive in an active home that can keep her busy and likes to be on the go.

Theo is your typical hound – loves to his nose, and is an all around goofy and happy go lucky kinda guy. Theo came to MAS with heartworm, and is nearing the end of his treatment restrictions. He is very much looking forward to going for endless walks and sniffing out new smells. He has enjoyed the company of everyone that he has met so far, and really enjoys being part of the action.

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Hi, I’m Eleanor!  I’m a granny chihuahua and about 9 years old. I weigh about 10 pounds and am a little thing. I was rescued from a pretty sad situation so I’m relearning to dog, and I’m doing a really good job! I love other dogs of all sizes, but cats are too scary for me so I’ll pass on living with them. Since I am shy at first, a home without kids is probably the best too. I love snuggles. So much. I also enjoy going for walks and can be left unsupervised without being in a crate! I also don’t have accidents as long as we go to the bathroom frequently! I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. My adoption fee is $175, and you can apply to adopt me at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Appropriately named Trebek, this sweetheart is classy, lovable, intelligent and has amazing facial hair. He is a 42 pound, 2 year old Heinz 57 with the most squishy squeezable face. Trebek has had a rough start to his young life. He is heart worm positive, receiving treatments currently. Earlier this year he was found on the side of the road, covered in buckshot, with a broken pelvis, presumably hit by a car and left alone. Despite this he is very sweet and lovable. He is very resilient. He is a bit timid at first, but there is a reservoir of love and depth to this pup. He deserves a very special and wonderful home.

Trebek is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Trebek apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
