Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Hi I’m Deliliah!  I had five kittens, all of whom have been adopted.  It’s my turn now.  If you want a sweet girl who loves to play and lays around, come check me out.  I’m at the Happy Cat Café on Division just south of Wealthy.  That’s where all the special loving cats go for adoption.  Come chill out, meet me, and you’ll fall in love.

I’m Brahms.  Not quite the composer as my namesake, but I have been known to make hearts sing.  If you want a lap cat extraordinaire, I’m your guy.  I will greet you at the door and sit with you through all the music you play.  I promise not to criticize your tastes.  All I ask in return is a comfortable lap and lots of love.

I’m Abbie, nice to meet you!  If I told you I’m the softest cat ever, would you come and pet me on a dare?  A double dare?  I am very sweet, purr a lot, but will also let you know when I’ve had enough.  I need to be on a special diet for life due to crystals.  It’s nothing serious unless my diet changes.  I’ve been known to sit on laps when placed there.  Come check me out.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Janis. My D.O.B. is 11/23/17. My siblings and I, and our Momma, were found by a nice man, in his barn, during all of the cold weather. He was kind enough to make sure we went to a place safe.

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Abe (gray and white) and Lincoln (tan/buff) are super sweet and social kittens who found themselves dumped off together at the shelter. That’s no way for a kitten to start out its life! Let’s give these five month old babies a fresh start in a new home. They’d make awesome companions for just about any family. There are only 5 months old and very playful and affectionate. They love to explore and get into mischief with each other. They have so much fun together that we would love to see them adopted into the same home. If you have room in your heart for two, come meet these kittens and fall in love!

You can meet Lincoln at Critter Cottage in Ada (7205 Thornapple River Drive). Store hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 10-6; Friday-Saturday from 10-3.
