The following animals are available for adoption. If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly. Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes. Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.
For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday! The following pet profiles are provided by each rescue.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary
Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.
Myrtle, Hazel and their siblings were born on 3/18/18. They have a wonderful and tiny momma named Minni. She is a Bassett hound mix. There are 9 puppies all together, and we are ready to start accepting applications now. Please be patient though, as the puppies will not be ready for adoption until after they are 8 weeks old and medically cleared.
Carol’s Ferals
Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.
Graham (male/gray tabby)
I can’t understand how my former owners could leave a LOVER like me behind in the trailer park. I’m the ideal cuddly cat! I thoroughly enjoy being petted and will sit on a lap when requested. I have been known to knead on a shirt while being held. If you are looking for a snuggly guy, come check me out!
LaManita (female/black)
I am approximately 10–years–old; eight of those years have been spent at Carol’s Ferals. I’d really like a home of my own. I have seen many other cats get adopted, but I am constantly overlooked. I enjoy being petted and will rub against you asking for more if you quit. If you want an independent cat who likes to lay around, watch the world, and mind her own business – I’m your girl. I am also very photogenic, if you need a model. Come meet me, and you’ll see.
Tootsie (female/patch tabby)
I won’t be the first one to greet you at the door, but I am very sweet and don’t cause trouble with my roomies. You can pet me, but I am a little skittish when people want to pick me up. I will probably blossom in a home of my own, it will just take a little patience and love.
Vicky’s Pet Connection
Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens. They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.
