Furry Friday: Mistletoe and Jingles

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Have you ever wondered why the tradition of smooching under a sprig of mistletoe at Christmas time started? Someone at MAS read a story to me about a god being struck down with an arrow made from a mistletoe plant, so his mother goddess mandated a promise of a kiss to ensure that mistletoe was never used for violence again. So mistletoe became a symbol of love and peace, through the grief of tragedy.

I don’t know if there is truth in the story, but I can promise you that I will do my best to live up to being a symbol of peace and love at home with you! I say that I will do my best, because I do have a bit of prey drive; so I cannot promise I will be so loving and peaceful to small critters like cats, squirrels, or small dogs. But I have done well with some other dogs my own size. If you have a dog, have no fear! MAS does dog introductions before I go home to make sure we are a merry match!

Before meeting me, you should know that I am as sweet as a Christmas cookie and I love being around people…I have some pep in my step so I might be a little much for very small kids (I would hate to knock over a small one when I get excited with the zooms). They say that nobody is perfect, but I would have to say I have got to be pretty darn close!

If you have some extra smooches for a sweetheart like me, submit your adoption application to meet me!

Jingles is a 65 pound, 2 year old Poodle Mix with the body of an Imperial Walker and the head of a Wookie. She’s adorable. Jingles is a happy, goofy, lovable doofus who loves to go on adventures with her foster humans. She will do best in an active home that will teach her all the best manners and give her tons of exercise. She is an absolute sweetheart, but she doesn’t always know how big and bouncy she is. She’s like Tigger. But way cuter. Jingles is house trained, but she will need a home that will not crate her. She loves other dogs, and she would do best in a home without smaller children due to her size and energy level. Jingles is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Jingles, apply here.
