Furry Friday: Puppies, Atom and Pixel

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Love is in the air, and so are these adorable pups!

These 4 little darlings came to MAS on Valentine’s Day with their mom and 4 brothers. They are on the hunt for their forever homes, and they come packed with love, joy, and endless puppy kisses! Aphrodite, Bliss, Cherish, and Dove may be just tiny bundles of fur right now, but their hearts are as big as their dreams of finding the perfect family to call their own!

While we can’t predict their exact size when they’re fully grown, we can tell you that mom tips the scales at around 50lbs, so they may follow in her paw prints! These playful pups are in full-blown puppy mode, ready to chase balls, play tug-of-war, and embark on adventures with their new best friends (before a well-deserved nap and cuddle session)! Being so young, they would be happy to be a part of any home with other dogs, cats, and kids – all fun playmates and excellent role models!

Now is the prime time to work on their training and social skills, ensuring they grow up to be well-behaved, perfect ladies. With a little patience, consistency, and a whole lot of love, Aphrodite, Bliss, Cherish, and Dove are sure to blossom into the most wonderful companions.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to one of these precious babes, visit the MAS website and submit your application today! They can’t wait to wiggle their way into your life and fill your days with laughter, love, and puppy cuddles galore! Adopt one (or all!) of these charming pups and embark on a journey of unconditional love and lifelong companionship.

Atom is 3 years old and approximately 50 pounds. He is always down to play with other dogs, go for a walk, or show you how smart he is by learning new things faster than you can teach them. He is considering a career as a model if this whole adoption thing doesn’t come through for him. But he would rather stick with finding a family. Atom is incredibly handsome, current on vaccines, microchipped, and will be neutered prior to his adoption. His adoption fee is $250 and you can apply to love Atom forever at the Hearts of Hope website.

Second Chance Cats of West Michigan

Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process.  Here is their pet of the week.

Pixel was found wandering on her own and was taken in by a wonderful couple. For the next 1-2 months Pixel was fostered in her own little room. She finally had a safe place with people who wanted nothing but love for her. After a few months of being in foster, there was eventually an opening at Second Chance for Pixel so she could get everything she needed to live a healthy long life.

Pixel is a former outside cat, but thankfully she didn’t take long to adjust. That doesn’t mean she can’t daydream though, so make sure you have a nice big window (or two) for her to spend her days!

Pixel loves people and likes to be pet. She will let you know, however, when time’s up for pets! She is often one of the first to greet our volunteers at the door. Pixel is good with other cats, but would prefer to have her own castle. Pixel is looking for her furrrever home and would love to meet you!

She has a slight head tilt. This is usually caused by injury or infection to the middle or inner ear. It does not seem to affect her balance or ability to get around. It makes her even more adorable!

Pixel has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Pixel is approximately two years old. Her adoption fee is $95. To adopt Pixel, apply online here.

If you are interested in any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.
