Game 71: Assistant Principal

After going 24-0 in his first two dozen games against former assistant coaches, Nick Saban had gone 1-2, including a loss in last year’s championship games to Georgia’s Kirby Smart. On Saturday, Steve Sarkisian had Texas poised to hang another defeat in Saban’s loss column after Bert Auburn gave the Longhorns the lead over Alabama with a late field goal. But that’s when Heisman award winner, Bryce Young, went to work, engineering a 9-play 61 yard drive which include a 20-yard scramble after ducking what most likely would have been a game-ending sack near midfield. With 10 seconds left, kicker Will Reichard was good from 33-yards out, and the Crimson Tide escaped in Austin 20-19.

On the GridCard, Annabelle (40) put up a TallBoy and earned King of the Mountain. This was Annabelle’s second KOTM of the year.
