We received the following press release from WION Radio.

Along with the Blue Star Mothers Chapter #188 of Ionia, Montcalm, and Kent Counties, WION plans the official “Broadcast Week” of “Treasures for Troops” November 13th thru 17th!

Broadcasts are scheduled the afternoons of November 13th,15th, and 17th in various area locations, and WION urges folks interested in donating to not wait, but rather buy things shown on the “needs list” as they do their regular shopping.

There are drop off locations in Ionia, Lowell, and Muir, and the WION Radio website at www.i1430.com contains the most up-to-date information on the drive, needs, and more. Please bookmark the station’s page and refer to it for information. WION encourages downloads of the needs list for our deployed military members and the placing of them on business counters, and other distribution!

Addresses of deployed military members may be emailed to: [email protected] to ask for a box to be sent to someone you may know. All questions can be sent to Brenda King-Gibson at [email protected]

Boxes are packed by volunteers assisting Blue Star Mothers Chapter #188 with donations collected in this yearly event, and include letters, cards, and notes from students across the area, along with three “holy trinity” items of Peanut Butter, Chunky soup, and beef jerky, along with a variety of items from the needs list published locally each year.

For more information and to see a list of suggested items, visit the WION Treasures for Troops website.
