Game 80: Extra Extra
Baylor and West Virginia played a typical high-scoring, closely-contested Big 12 football game — which was decided in a very atypical fashion. West Virginia led 7-0 early but in the second quarter Baylor came back to take a 17-7 lead. The Bears then answered the next three Mountaineer’ TDs with touchdowns of their own, the last on a 4-yard Qualan Jones run, pushing the score to 37-31, setting up the PAT attempt which decided the game. John Mayers’ kick was blocked and Jacoby Spells returned it for a rare 2-point defensive score, producing the three point difference in WVa’s 43-40 win over Baylor.
On the GridCard, maryalene (42) continued her hot streak, putting up a TallBoy and edging out the TB by EricCinTexas (40). Only six other players posted Qualifying Scores: btalkington20 (34), Heart of a Hooligan (33), KLC (32), MW (32), Kara (31), and ProGrid Tour winner Ricco1947 (38). KLC (69) won his first King Kong of the year.
In Team GridCard action, Gm80 high-point honors went to Team Collins—ErciCinTexas (40) and btalkington20 (34)–who beat the OG 74-50. Heart of a Hooligan (33) and Kara (31) led Team Detwiler to a 64-50 win over VBar. Fictionasy nipped TMac 57-55 behind Go Bucs (30) and Guy Green (27). And the LFL took the PGT to the limit 70-70, but lost on the TB, Ricco1947 (38) and MW (32) leading the way.

Game 79: The Cowboy Way
Midway through the third quarter, the game was getting away from the Cowboys. Trailing Texas Tech 31-23, OSU faced 4th-and-7 at midfield and drew a smattering of boos when they opted to punt. The strategy proved right, however, when Tom Hutton dropped the punt inside the 5-yard line, and the Cowboys’ defense forced a three-and-out. Oklahoma State (-9) scored the last 18 points of the game, winning the game outright and ATS 41-31.
On the GridCard, KLC (37) won for the second time in three weeks, his second KOTM of the year. Six others, including three ProGrid Tour players, posted Qualifying Scores: Dano (35), Teunesto (31), Jkloo (31), MMc (30), dangerzone (30), and Zeke (29).
Team Collins edged the OG 62-61 in Team GridCard. KLC (37) and The Dust (25) put up Gm79’s High-Score. In another tight contest, VBar beat Team Detwiler 57-56 behind Jkloo (31) and Winky (26). Fictionasy got Top2 scores from Zeke (29) and Bubba (23) to get by TMac 52-50. Teunesto (31) and MMc (30) helped keep the PGT undefeated, the ProGrid Tour beating LFL 61-55.
